I provide online therapy to people residing in New York, South Carolina, and Florida. Online therapy is a form of telehealth or telemedicine, which refers to medical or psychological services that are provided using technology, such as through phone or a video platform. I use a HIPAA-approved telehealth platform, which I will give you instructions on how to access prior to your first appointment.
Online therapy allows you to meet with a therapist in the comfort of your own home. It cuts down on travel time and is more convenient for some people. If we agree to work together, I want to ensure that you are comfortable with telehealth. There are some factors that can help ensure that online therapy goes as smoothly as possible:
- Be sure to have a private space to talk where you will not be interrupted
- Ensure that your internet connection is strong and your device is fully charged
There are some cases where telehealth may not be recommended. If you are suicidal or experiencing a crisis, you may require in-person services or hospitalization. I can talk to you more about your specific condition and whether you may benefit from telehealth.
If for any reason you feel like telehealth is not right for you, please let me know and I will be happy to provide you with a referral to an in-person provider.
